Author Profile EDRG 3321
She has written and publish several books as a continuation from Amelia's notebook. The books were very interesting and funny, any children and adults like us enjoy reading books like this. As a group we decided to create a move clip over the book and with our own voice too.
She has published over 40 books, it took her alot of hardwork to publish a book and revising at the same time. Our book that we are presenting is a 3rd grade level.
This is an interesting website about Marissa Moss and her books: www.marissamoss.com

The second group also did a really good job about the recycling activity and how they created the poster and showed us what is to recycle and what is not. The movie clip was pretty cool too.

What does Expository mean?
Expository- How to inform.
- Directions
- Instructions

The different ways you can use an Informational paper:

Whenever I see a Non-Fiction book, to me is something that can be based in a true event, biography, and informational.
For an example:
Autobiography/biography- Written about a person’s life.
Essay- Can be based on research or personal experience. Written in paragraph form, usually five or more
Interview- Recorded word for word. May be written in bullet format or like a drama
and etc.

EDRG 3344 M&W (What is Narrative?)
OK, well last week I couldn't’t attend class on Wednesday and I found out we were supposed to write about what Narrative is.
Narrative has a beginning, middle, and an ending to a story. It is mostly based in first person. Every paragraph must have at least 4-6 sentences and at least the 5 paragraphs in a narrative. Below are the elements of narrative:
Setting- Where the story takes place.
Details- elaborate and add more information.
Character- Description of the character and their role played in the story.
Plot- The events that occur in the story.
Conflict- The struggle between two opposing people.
Resolution- How it’s resolved and the how the situation in the story ended.
Climax- it is the most interested part in the story.
For an example: Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and The Lion and the Mouse.

EDRG 3321 Fiction Book activity
I believe my group did a good job in this book, I can t wait to present it. In the front cover we had to write and draw what fiction is to us. For an example when we walk into the library how do we know this section of books is fiction? Basically if the book looks fantasy, fairytale, adventurous and etc. it shows fiction. Then inside the book we had to write the elements of fiction. For an example, the setting, the character, plot, and etc. We also decided to draw inside to show more details of the book. And finally in the back of the book we had to write our names and tell a little bit about us. :)
It was fun working as a group!

EDRG 3321 BLOG Chp 7
So today in class was pretty interesting learning about “Picture Books”.
We all know how picture books are to show us an idea or image of what the book will be about. I believe picture books are one of the best books to read because they are very helpful to the students to understand the text and by looking at the pictures. When I was little I loved picture books because they were so easy to understand and predict what would happen next. They were not just easy but fun to read; we also used them as plays.
In the other side I liked how Mrs. Pickett showed us the video of Mrs. Dismond Think Aloud Demonstration in the website www.schooltube.com . It was funny, but I learned how were not supposed to read in that kind of way because she seemed like the way she was reading to them didn’t really engaged the students. One of the students in class looked kind of bored and kept moving a lot, we really don’t want our students to be like that. If I was her I would have sat down in the floor with the students and formed a circle and read to them while showing them the pictures of the book.
Here are some of the examples of picture books:

3321 M&W POETRY
Here are some of the Elements of poetry:
The use of SOUND makes you hear the voice of the poetry and the musical to the ear.
The use of RHYME is combining some words that may sound alike and it rhymes at the same time.
The use of RHYTHM, the words and lines are organized and repetition is also used in order to create the rhythm.
The use of SHAPE is the form in which the poem is written for an example in a triangle, horizontal, parallel style, and etc.
As referred in the book, I believe each student or child has its own way of choosing their type of poetry or poems that they might find it easier to understand. Easy poems and short ones are the ones that are easier to understand. When I was a younger student I used to like poetry that rhymed because I had fun reading them and made it sound like they were the same word but it only rhyme by the last letters of the word.
Poetry expresses your feelings, emotions, and life.

3344 M&W BLOG 4
Well yesterday I really had fun with the “About Me” book activity. I really thought it was really cute :)
I will totally use this activity for my students. I also learned the different types of Personal writing we use in life. Texting is one of the things I love to do. I am not addicted to it but I prefer texting than talking. I have more time to do things such as, while I am washing dishes I can text but I can’t talk because I can’t use my hand to hold the phone and talk while I am washing dishes.
One of the things I will like to talk about “my about me” is I work at HEB. I believe it’s a great job and I will love to appreciate my partners by writing them this letter:
Dear HEB partners,
I have being working for you guys for 2 amazing years. I will love to appreciate every moment all you partners for teaching me something new everyday and how we all make a better place to shop at HEB. J I have learned how to provide good and better customer service and how to keep the Vital 5, which is 1. Greet the customer 2. Interact 3. Offer Wow items 4. Thank them 5. Ask if they need help. I learned so much and I would love to recognize all my managers for supporting all partners and the same with our customers. I look forward to staying with you guys for more couple years. I love all my PARTNERS!!! :)
Here everything is BETTER!!!

EDRG 3344 IF I WON...
The next thing I would be running to my family to show them the surprised. ¿Que compraria, hmmm? First of all I will take my time to talk about it with my family. I can imagine myself with so many things such as traveling the world is one of the biggest moments I would love to experience. For an example I would love to go to France, Paris, Germany, and somewhere out of the country.
One of the main things, I would help out my family with the bills, my brothers and as well as myself with paying for my college tuition. I am one of those people, where I know I won’t go crazy with money because I know it is important to save it until we know how to spend it.
But in my dreams I would love to buy myself a lot of cars such as a Scion, Honda, and a motorcycle. As you can see I love sports cars. :) I will love to buy me a huge amazing house like the ones in the dominions WOW! I would also go shopping spree and buy me all this expensive purses of all different kinds. There are so many things to buy with the lottery money.
But If I won the lottery ticket, I would be crying how happy and excited I will be and how I will thank god for the opportunity he will give me.

EDRG 3344 Writing Process
Ok, today I want to talk about writing is a……….p-r-o-c-e-s-s, which makes process! Yayy
It contains 5 steps to make a complete paper: Pre-writing, drafting, revising, editing and publish.
1. Pre-writing- Helps organize your thoughts and ideas. For an example Semantic maps, story board, burger (order of sequence) and etc. can help organize it. Here you can brainstorm the setting, plot and characters. Pre-writing is more like gathering different ideas and from there you can choose which fits best.
2. Drafting- Is like creating a rough draft, (first paper before writing your final paper). It can be written like a paper, journal, blog, or in a computer.
3. Revising- This is when you can change/add or delete sentences as well as content and ideas. We use this part in the drafting paper in order to create a good final paper.
4. Editing- Is when you check for misspelling words/Capt./punctuation.PUBLISH! - Finally after following the Process steps, you have created a good paper and ready to show your audience how well you have done your paper
5. PUBLISH! - Finally after following the Process steps, you have created a good paper and ready to show your audience how well you have done your paper. =)

BLOG #2 3344.351
Hello PEEPS!!
OKk so today it was a really fun day in class. I felt like I was back in elementary lol
especially when Mrs. Harris read us the book, "If you Give a Pig a Pancake". :)
Well we had to get into our home groups to do an activity like the circular sequencing we did today. It was pretty fun because we got to blow bubbles even if ours was broken lol it didnt want to blow not even one bubble. We also got to eat pancakes..yummmy yummy.
Anywho a circular story is when you start off with an object and end up with the same object. For an example today: We had to do a circular sequence for the book, "If you Give a Pig a Pancake", we had to list the events in order starting off with pancakes, syrup, bath, bubbles, rubber duck , farm and back to pancakes. I believe we can use circular story in many ways, such as the circular story wheel we did today, I think we can make puppets and show what comes first and next and so on, having create their own circular story, working in groups and calling it out like we did today too.
Reading can be fun and sometimes a little boring. But we as (teachers) we have to make it fun for the students in order to engaged them to participate and get into it and know whats really going on in the story. Having activities is one way to engage them and have fun with the story, making puppets for the characters in the book, reading in groups and have snacks that has to do with the story. For an example, last semester I had to read about donuts and how to make them and what I did was I took donuts to them so we can have a little snack while reading the book and I also had picture donuts to cut off and colored them. :) There is so many ways and more to learn from others and be able to use them too.

BlOG #1 / 3344 M&W
OKAYYY, today I had a really fun day in class and it was enjoyable watching all the activities that we did today. :) I learned a lot through these activities and the lesson Mrs. Harris gave us. I learned about how we learn. I believe that every step I do is learning by others and as well as myself. The survey of Multiple Intelligences, gave me an idea how others really learn and in my way I learned that I am both interpersonal and kinesthetic. I learn and work more as a group than me individually but as majority of the class were intrapersonal. I also like to work things with hands and keep myself moving. I am motivated in a couple of ways such as "good job veronica, keep it up, I believe in you". This phrases make me feel good and it motivates me to keep going. It shows me how I am doing things right and I know I can do better. I am really interested in this class, it might be the beginning but I know there is more things out there to learn and I am really looking forward to it. :)
